Murals are personalized for each client to reflect their taste and preferences while allowing me to employ my artistic style. Working closely with clients ensures mutual satisfaction with each project.
My portfolio of work displays my painting style, and offers a variety of subjects for inspiration.
Deciding on a Theme
Whether you have an idea for your mural, or need some direction, I will help you define the subject matter and the mood for the mural, and consider elements to be incorporated into the theme.
To customize a mural, I enjoy including images that have a special or symbolic meaning for the client, or that have a hidden surprise, such as including family pets in a mural, a favorite location in a landscape, or a wedding date on a wine bottle.
The site of the mural, including architecture and color scheme, are taken into account to ensure the mural has a natural feel in the setting. Murals and decorative paintings blend in with existing interior decor to enhance the design.
Getting Started
My process for creating a mural is to draw a very loose sketch to scale on paper, indicating the placement of elements. Next, I sketch the composition on the wall using charcoal. Painting involves first filling in background colors, then working toward the foreground, adding the most intricate details last. It’s fun to see how the artwork develops through the various stages.
Painting
Using acrylic paints in layers of glazes, my work is detailed and conveys dimension for a realistic look. I enjoy using a muted palette for a pleasing and harmonious feel, but am not afraid to use color when it’s called for!
My murals are produced with the highest quality artist grade acrylics for durability and light-fastness, so they will endure for years to come. Acrylic paints are odorless and non-toxic. Premium grade house paints are used for large areas of background. All paintings are washable, and for added durability a clear coat may be applied.
Pricing
Mural pricing is determined by the size and location of the space and the amount of detail in the mural. I can give a general estimate based on square feet, theme for mural, and style. Final bid is determined after visiting the site and agreement on a design.
Happy Clients
I have earned a reputation for my friendly and accommodating personality, dependability, and customer satisfaction. Many clients are repeat customers or referrals, demonstrating their confidence and enjoyment of my work.
The most rewarding aspect of mural painting is hearing clients say how much they enjoy walking into a room I have painted.
